VoxBody Studio Policies
Please familiarize yourself with the policies below. By attending an event at VoxBody Studio, we understand you to be familiar with and committed to uphold these policies. Together we co-create a safe(r) space and an environment of respect. If there is something you are not clear on, please ask a VoxBody liaison before the event. These policies are also posted throughout the studio.
COVID POLICY
Last updated April 3, 2025. Any future changes and updates will be posted here.
COVID vaccination (including a current booster) is strongly recommended. As of June 1, 2025, we will no longer check vax cards at the door.
Do not attend our events if you are experiencing symptoms of illness or have tested positive for COVID in the previous 10 days.
The liability waiver attendees sign at check-in will now include a symptom screen and attestation. (see below)
I have not been diagnosed with COVID-19 or had a positive COVID test within the last ten days. In the previous 48 hours, I have not had any of symptoms that are new or not explained by another condition, including fever, chills, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, headache, feeling unusually weak or fatigued, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, loss of taste or smell, runny or congested nose, muscle or body aches. I understand the mask recommendations for this event. I understand that exposure to COVID-19 is an inherent risk in any location where people are present.
To protect yourself and those around you, we recommend taking rapid tests before event attendance (ideally within 2 hours of arrival) and five days afterward.
VoxBody always has K/N95 masks on hand for attendees, and provides hand sanitizer. There is an air purifier in the studio, fans and open windows (as temperatures permit) for ventilation.
If you have tested positive for COVID, please use these guidelines to assess your timeline for returning to the studio.
PHONE & CAMERA POLICY
Phone & camera policy will vary slightly from event to event. If you are not clear on the policy for any specific event, please ask a VoxBody liaison first. When phone and camera use is allowed, we abide by the Responsible Adult Photography Policy, as described below.
PHONES:
Have your phones on silent and Do Not Disturb during all events at VoxBody.
If you must take a phone call or text during any event, leave the tying area. The entry space or outside (when appropriate) are approved spaces to handle calls and texts.
VoxBody strives to cultivate an environment where we can be present with each other and what is happening. Phones can distract you and those around you. We understand attendees may need them for note-taking or to be on-call for personal matters. We request that beyond this use, you make every best effort to be off your phone and present with the event you are attending.
PHOTOS
If you are taking a photo in the studio, ANY people who will be in-frame, even partially, must give their clear and full consent BEFORE taking the photo, or you should NOT take the photo.
That being said, please do not interrupt other people when they are tying or mid-scene to ask their permission. If you cannot get permission without disrupting someone's experience, consider another angle, or waiting.
VoxBody has a dedicated photo area that you are welcome to use to capture photos with a clean background. Please take every precaution if you are moving someone tied or restricted to the photo area while in rope.
Attendees of a VoxBody Studio event or class are not permitted to take unsolicited photos. If a VoxBody liaison is alerted to an attendee taking such photos, they may request that the attendee review their photo gallery with them; if any unsolicited photos of VoxBody Studio and its attendees are present, they will be required to delete them completely from their phone in the presence of the liaison. This is non-negotiable.
VIDEO
Video and sound recordings are strictly prohibited as any attendees can be identified by voice and their right to privacy put at risk.
The lone exception to this MAY BE during intensives when presenters give permission for their demonstrations to be filmed. This will be clearly stated and explained ahead of time in the event description.
In conclusion, please be a responsible adult with your phones and cameras. Do not put any attendee’s right to privacy at risk, whether they are the subject of your photo or incidentally in the background. Consider the need for discretion, and how things like visible tattoos or recognizable personal items might leave an attendee vulnerable to being identified beyond their consent.
Phone/photo and camera policy was adopted and adapted with permission from the organizers of RopeCraft.
