VoxBody Studio is located at 4120 Martin Luther King Jr Way Oakland, CA 94609.
Head to the door and windows to your left as you approach the building. Look for the Ring doorbell.
Be sure to read our COVID policy and bring the necessary documentation with you. We cannot make exceptions to this.
No need to print out your tickets! We will need the name(s) on your ticket at check-in, or to see the QR code on your phone.
If you want to pay cash at the door, make sure the event is not sold out before heading over. Sold out online means sold out in person, too!
ON ARRIVAL TIMES:
For all classes: class start time is listed on the event flyer and link. Doors open 15minutes prior to class start time. Doors are locked 15minutes after class start time. Please plan your travel time accordingly; we really like to begin class on time!
For Beginner Rope Jams: doors open at 7pm. Doors close and event starts at 7:30pm, and we are not able to accommodate late arrivals.
For all other rope jams: jams start at the time listed on the event flyer and link. Doors close 1.5 hours into the jam.
STUDIO HOURS:
VoxBody Studio is open when there is an event on the calendar. We don’t keep public studio hours otherwise. We check and respond to emails Monday - Friday 9am-1pm. Please note: we do not check emails on weekends. Your best bet for in-person purchases from our store is during an Easy Sundays or Tie by Night Rope Jam, or before/after an event that you attend.
MacArthur BART Station is 900ft / a 5 min walk away. Schedule and info can be found here. Trains run until 1am Monday-Saturday and until 9pm on Sundays. The station has locked bike parking, a 24-hr paid parking lot and a baywheels dock.
Here is a brief, sweet reel that takes you through the walk from Macarthur station to our front door!
Parking on the street can be a bit limited (better on weekends). We suggest allowing some extra travel time to find a parking spot.
As always when parking on a city street, never leave any visible belongings in your car.
VoxBody Studio is wheelchair accessible with an ADA bathroom. We are on the street level. There are no stairs / steps in the studio.
BIKE RIDERS:
- We cannot accommodate bikes parked inside; we simply don’t have the space (and want to avoid tracking street dirt inside the studio).
- There are bike racks in front of Arthur Macs, which is a fairly high traffic spot with pedestrians/visibility. There is also one post outside the studio that people frequently lock their bikes to. Lots of people do ride their bikes to the studio and we haven't received one report of trouble or vandalism in more than two years.
- At some point in the near future, we are having a bike rack installed out front! It has been approved we just aren't sure when the install will happen. We will update here when it has been installed.
